Meeting Tal’vi {Backpost}

Posted on Thu Jun 20th, 2024 @ 9:59pm by Captain Xavier Carey & Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey

Mission: Brief Stay
Location: Various
Timeline: Before getting the mission

Xavier walked through the airlock that the Resolution was docked with, and turned the corner. "Tal'vi has indicated he wanted to meet us up here for dinner at one of the restaurants." Xavier stated as he intertwined his fingers with Skys.

Sky smiled and nodded, it was nice to be able to spend time with Xavier like a proper married couple without having to worry about interruptions spoiling their time. “I’ll admit, it’s nice not to have to worry about interruptions spoiling our time together, especially as I’m meeting Tal’vi.”

"I do agree with you there. But lets make the most of it, with the war, I do think these times will be far and few between."

Sky nodded. “I’ll be honest the thought of war terrifies me! Will it be safe for the families we have onboard ship? What about the twins?” She took a calming breath.

"We are starfleet, nothing is guaranteed."

“That’s true, but I’m not going to be assigned anywhere away from you, I’d quit first.” She gave Xavier a determined look.

Smiling, "That won't be necessary."

“I know” Sky smiled warmly. “I just wanted you know how serious I am.” She held onto his arm as they walked. “So tell me more about my step-son.”

"Why dont you ask him yourself." He asked as he pointed out the tall figure standing, talking to a few cadets.

“Ohh Wow...he's definitely like Tal isn’t he?” Sky offered a smile before giving the tall young man a wave.

"I will meet you at the bar later." The tall blue cadet spoke to the trio in front of him, before turning to the approaching duo. "Dad," He exclaimed as he went over, and extended his hand. "This must be Sky... or should I say Mom."

Sky’s smile practically shone. “It’s so nice to meet you Tal’vi” she offered a hug, but as with Talsi their height difference made it awkward.

Tal’vi skooped her up in his arms bringing her higher. "This better?"

“Most definitely!” Sky nodded as she offered Tal’vi a hug. “So are you looking forward to having a brother and sister?”

"From what I am hearing. maybe one of each?"

Sky nodded. “Definitely one of each.”

Finally putting her down, "That is good. I look forward to meeting them."

“Well it’s only a matter of time now” Sky grinned. “Your father has been telling me a lot about you Tal’vi, he’s very proud of you.”

"Well... I am the youngest member of starfleet class of 2376. Although there is talk about assignments dus to the war."

"I’ve heard of those same rumblings." Xavier replied.

Sky looked between the two. “It must be difficult for both of you, with the war looming and all. It’s a worrying time for everyone right now.”

"Dad says that we must be ready, for anything. The old ship we lost good men and women, before returning to federation space. If war is here, then we shouldn't be caught with our pants up."

Xavier sighed. "Pants down Tal'vi. Its pants down. You are right."

Sky grinned at Xavier’s correction. “Pants up or down it doesn’t matter as long as we keep our wits about us. We all need to make sure we keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.”

"Apparently I get the mix ups from my mother. Tell me has she gotten any better?"

Sky grinned. “She’s most definitely learning, it takes time.”

"Where is your mother?" Xavier inquired

"Gone for some food shopping, apparently you ran out of meat, and replicators arent cutting it."

“That’s Tal Alright” Sky grinned. “I’ll admit the replicators don't do fresh meat justice. There’s just a whole difference to the taste of real meat instead of replicated.” She offered a wry smile.

"But when she eats it raw... thats something I can't stomach..." Xavier replied

Tal'Vi smiled. "Its why mom and I eat meat outside of view of other people. Our appetite as you can imagine resembles more the klingon style than human."

Sky nodded. “Given your natural height and size I’m not surprised.” She smiled.

"Protein is essential, vegetables... they are ok."

"Not that you ever ate them." Xavier retored.

Sky couldn’t help but grin. “A typical reaction to vegetables then! To be honest I don’t eat that many varieties of vegetables, but right now I have to keep up the nutrition for the twins.”

"Got a whole dozen cows restocked for the resolution." Tal walked up, kissed both Sky and Xavier before touching foreheads with Tal'Vi

“A dozen cows!?” Sky offered a wry smile. “That’s definitely a lot of meat, not that I’m complaining!”

"That will be good for at least a month." Tal’Vi replied. "I have some leave coming up, and I thought I would take it on the Resolution."

“Really!?” Sky couldn’t help but sound enthusiastic, she was enjoying getting to know her stepson. “That would be nice.”

"We do have a break, so I figured why not."

Sky looked at Xavier, “It’ll be nice to have Tal’vi aboard the ship won’t it?”

"As long as he keeps away from the women." Xavier replied. "From what I hear... hes got his mothers... drive."

“Ahh I see” Sky grinned. “I’m sure Tal will keep an eye on Tal’vi. Plus I’m sure you have sense enough young man.”

"We can only hope." Xavier replied with a smile. "Just avoid the headaches your mother caused when she was first on the Wellington."

“Anything I can do to help I will” Sky smiled warmly at both Xavier and Tal’vi.
