Meeting Molek

Posted on Mon Mar 17th, 2025 @ 10:00am by Captain Xavier Carey & Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey & 1st Lieutenant Kayleigh London

Mission: Those who are left behind
Location: Brig
Timeline: Backpost

Having been to the nursery to check on the twins, Sky was on her way back to her office. Now she was finally back to a few hours of work she was feeling more settled, but it felt odd being away from the twins. Walking the corridor she paused walking as she felt a strong sense of something, it was almost shrouded as though from a controlled mind, but at the same time she felt pain, or maybe anguish? it was difficult to tell without a clear sense. Following the sensation she found herself outside the brig. She paused before walking in.

As the doors closed behind her the guard tapped his comm badge. "Security to bridge, Molek has a visitor... the Counsellor just went in."

Xavier sighed, "Keep an eye on her... Have security by the door." He stood, and headed to the door.

Meanwhile inside the brig Sky was greeted by a sight she hadn't expected, offering a disarming smile she approached the cell containing Molek. "Are you alright?"

"Given the circumstances. I am sure my people wouldn't settle for the brig if our roles were reversed." Molek replied as he stood. "Your uniform states medical, though your tone speaks counsellor."

“You are quite correct” Sky offered a friendly smile. “I’m Sky Jansen-Carey, Chief Counsellor. I felt you were either in pain, or anguish, either way I couldn’t just ignore it.”

"Carey... I take it you are the Captains wife."

Kay had been notified to keep an eye on things and she decided to do it inside not just at the door. She walked in and nodded to Molek then whispered in Sky's ear. "Should you be here, ma'am?"

Sky offered Molek an apologetic smile. “Excuse me a moment” she turned to Kay offering a polite smile. “As ships Counsellor it’s my job to take care of those onboard, whether they’re crew or guest, regardless of where onboard they may be. If that’s a problem then I’m sure I’ll find out.”

"With all due respect, I don't think the captain wants you here. We have an assistant chief counsellor who can do it, and I am a counsellor as well if you remember that." Kay said with all the London stubbornness.

“I understand that Lieutenant” Sky offered a calm response. “But I’m not just going to walk out now I’ve introduced myself. If there’s a problem with that then the Captain will have to tell me that himself.”

"I am going to stay with you though, ma'am." Kay said, stubborn as ever. "Inside."

Sky nodded. “Fair enough.” With that she offered a smile and turned back to Molek. “My apologies, now to answer your question, Yes I am the Captain’s wife.”

"Do you know the story of his father?" Molek inquired "From what I hear from the first officer... not many people do."

Sky gave Molek a curious look. “I do not, but I trust my husband will tell me when he’s ready to do so. I take it the two of you have a history?”

"It is not my place to say what happened." Molek replied as he turned to the door that had just opened. "Speaking of the devil."

Kay was just about to open her mouth to say something but closed it again when the captain entered. It was totally up to him what he said.

Sky turned to look at her husband offering a smile. “Captain, I was just checking in on our.. guest.”

"I guess its inevitable, if it wasn't for you being on mat leave, it would actually be your job." Xavier replied as he stood next to her. "What have you told her Molek?"

"Its not up to me Captain... this is a personal matter." He turned to the Captain. "Might I suggest going to your quarters, and sitting your wife down. If I have any questions... I believe the Security Officer is more than capable to assist me. If your wife wants to talk afterwards. With your permission. She would be welcome. As any of your crew are should they feel the need to talk, or yell, or scream."

Sky exchanged glances between Molek and Xavier, they obviously had quite a history between them. “I can’t say I’m not curious about whatever it is between the two of you.”

Kay nodded her approval. Part of her was very curious but as a counsellor she knew that some things needed to be kept secret from her.

"Ready," Xavier replied turning to Sky, "I think it has been a long time coming."

"Do you want me to leave?" Kay asked. "Then you guys can stay here."

“I don’t think we’ll be discussing private matters here” Sky offered Kay a warm smile. “We’ll be leaving now.” She turned to Molek. “I’ve no doubt we’ll speak again.”

Xavier turned to Kay, "Thank you Lieutenant." Then turning to Molek, "I appreciate you allowing me to discuss it with my wife. It was a long time coming... most would just blurt out what they know."
