Mission: Those who are left behind
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: 0713 hrs

OOC Welcome XO to the party.

On:

The two people materialized along with the howl of a medical tricorder signifying a patient in medical distress or worse, medic Alexandra Fox resumed chest compressions on her patient, "I need a help here!" she called out as she tried too keep her attention on her patient, pausing to reach to her bag she pulled out another vial for the hypo-spray "1 millilitre of adrenaline." she called as she slammed the vial into the hypo and firing it into the patients neck as she heard rushed foot steps, "Resuming compressions."

The quick thinking Transporter chief quickly set pre-programmed coordinates to the Sick Bay without even a thought.

Pix was flying in erratic circles as Milton came out of his office and headed to the Main Operating Biobed. Arriving just as the patient materialized. The sterilized field went up as Milton hand his trusted probe that would relay data to the monitor.

"Might ask what lightning struck him if we were on the surface?" Milton mentioned as the readings were not positive. "Get a cooling blanket over here!" Milton demanded as the body temperature had indeed spiked, this is a major first sign of a major allergic reaction to exceeding high toxicology.

Things that can cure or kill are based on Toxicology; the science of balancing the level to aid but not exceed the body's natural Toxic threshold, a spike in body temperature is a natural way of the physical body trying to purge the toxic levels. Coupled with the major changes in the normal heart rhythm as a connected effect from the body reaction. With the rapid breathing confirmed that The Patient had been exposed to some kind of unnatural substance or gas that is attacking the body's defenses.

"COmputer Identify patient." Milton needed to narrow past Male and humanoid.

"Lieutenant Commander Ryan Price." The colder tone of the Computer voiced.

"Phenobarbital." Milton had to stop the body from a seizure as with the present condition would cause seizures and Convulsions.

The body was what humanoid call 'At Death's Door' and if this were a story a Skelton like figure in dark Rob's would be hovering near by. "But not on my Watch..." Milton was pumping the new drugs into the body of the patient while closely monitoring the sudden reactions to what is happening between what is over-dosing him in a manner of speaking and the 'Cure' that Milton was following from his vast knowledge.

Ryan found himself sitting in a room, it was poorly lit a single chair was against the wall a lone window showed a storm off in the distance encircling a dark mountain, suddenly the room was filled with noise that sounded like medical equipment beeping and making noises followed by a voice 'not today...

Ryan felt a rush as he gasped followed by coughing his body felt heavy as if there was a great mass on his chest, the waves of nausea over took his body he felt himself convulse with his free hand he grabbed the doctor "Destroy that ship!" he gasped out his hand harshly grabbing the other mans forearm drool falling from his mouth his eyes bloodshot and overed in thick slimy tears.

Milton hesitated for half a second.

=^= Bridge, I have a Lt. Commander Price down her is an awful State, he says to destroy the ship he was on an Away mission to explore. I am just relaying ... panicked demands.=^=

Toni cursed. =>= On my way, doctor. =>= She transferred command to the highest ranking officer present and hurried to sickbay.

"What is going on?" Toni asked as she panted a little from running up so fast.

"WE have an Over-dose case here." Milton reply over his shoulder while not changing focus from his patient. "I am having the Sensors do a Toxic blood screen scan to get some idea of what is the problem? "Milton shook his head. "Also I have the Commander here wanting the ship out there destroyed."

"Negative... If it is the white... It may solve our problem... several Jem hadars already full blown withdrawal, the rest aren't far behind. We aren't ones to sit back and watch them as they die."

"Do you need help?" Toni asked Milton. She did have a medical degree although it was a bit rusty. "What is the prognosis."

"All the signs point to Toxic poisoning, same as an Overdose that reacts badly in his system." Milton continued to watch the patient and glance at the Bio-readings for subtle changes. ""Drug Poisoning would be a good first guess."

Milton took another hypo to the man's neck.

"A good bit of Benzodiazepine should help, if you could get an IV with fluids in I'm to counter rising fever it will progress towards stabilizing him.

"On it." Toni said and handed the IV to the doctor a little later. "Will he be ok?"

"I like to think I have a pretty good success rate here and he is still breathing so I say the diagnosis is favorable." Milton was fixing the IV to Price. "He is going to be okay, maybe a bit worst for wear during recovery but He will live through this." Milton winked to his friend.

"Good." Toni said. Price and she had their differences but she certainly did not wish illness or death upon him. "Was anyone else infected?"

Alexandra spoke, "The Commander enforced full hazardous materials protocols, all others were kept back from the ship, and no one had explored the interior of the ship where this happened, he was in there for ten maybe fifteen minutes when he returned with his pack and the two vials I have in the biohazard bag in my kit."

"Two vials... not enough for the entire amount that we need, is there any way you can use the vials to make more." Xavier replied as he looked over to the officer. "Give the bag to the doctor for proper storage." Sure he was worried about the officer, a new officer on his ship. However, leaving the ship on a mission he knew nothing about. Added to the fact they had Jem Hadar getting more violent. The safety of the ship was number one. He sighed, "What is the chances he pulls a full recovery Dr."

"I have a patient to deal with here." Milton piped up . "I do not play the odds sir and since he should already be dead neither does he." He chuckled nervously. "I am sure he will recover and the spped of treatment should eventually be full recovery; however, that depends on how much he really wants to live and heal, I can only do so much."

Gesturing over his shoulder.

Yellow cabinet with linked Life support to control environment, put the vials and all in there; computer will scan and create place to safe storage."

"Who else was on this mission?" Toni had a sneaky feeling he may not have taken the people she had asked him to take along.

The medic just spoke again, "Just me and the salvage team from the ground forces, the salvage team didn't go inside the ship until it was cleared and to my knowledge haven't because of this incident."

Toni cursed under her breath, she had all but ordered him to take security personnel.

Taking a step back, "I apologize Doctor... I think we are all under a lot of stress at the moment, I may have chosen to... try and get a few extra winks. Apparently that was ill advised for our current situation."

"Do not really find a need to dwell on that. Once I get him stable we will have a real talk." Milton suggested as he administered Some Beta carbine to neutralize the toxins a bit if he was correct."

Toni felt the attack of the captain and blushed. Maybe she should have woken him and got his permission before letting Price go. Xavier seemed to think so and she would need to talk to him about that later in private.

Loudly gasping Ryan sat upright panting and wheezing. "The ship is boobytrapped!" he flopped back panting again "It's rigged with aerosolized Ketricel and high explosives."

"What ship?" Toni was next to him in seconds. "The ship you were investigating?"

"WHite..."Milton exclaimed. "There is a supply of White on that ship?" His brain whirling even more. "We need to get some of it.... I-I can analyze and make a lower grade White that could prolong or even maybe be duplicated if analyzed!"

Ryan struggled to sit up, he swung his legs over the side of the bio bed, and steadied himself as best as he could, "We have to vials in the field case Mrs Fox has still with her, " He paused clearly still weakened "I had orders to recover samples of the drug along with transponder codes and any thing else." he motioned too the medic who had the biohazard bag in her hands, "Similar missions have met with far more disastrous fates because the Dominion is expecting intelligence to take this kind of risk for information like this."

Xavier paused, before saying anything, he looked around, this whole situation was messed up, and under normal circumstances, he knew he would be level headed, now... with the cardassian requesting asylum the past brought up. He felt his nerves on edge.

"If you will excuse me doctor." He replied as he looked at the commander, sitting up. He was doing his job, Intel. Here he was snapping that he didn't know about it. Following the chain of command he did. He walked over to one of the bio beds and sat down.

"I'll take full responsibility here, Intel and operations have been planning a number of missions behind enemy line and each attempt has been foiled and even with some of the smaller victories it's not enough by anyone's measure." Ryan said as he coughed afterwards.

"No, its fine. Intel has their own thing to do, as we as us normal officers. You went by the book, a command officer was notified what was going on, I was in the wrong, I apologize to everyone." He paused a moment. "Is there no way we can salvage that ship? The intel on it can be worth it."

Toni nodded that she accepted his apology. But she still did not understand why Intel had to keep that mission hidden from the command crew. Working together could have led to a better result.

"you will have to stay in sickbay and rest." She said to Price. "So bring us up to speed on what we need to do."

Pix gave Price a tilt of her head and her glow got a tinge of red,

"I think Toni's word is law as far as Pix is concerned. "Milton chuckled. "Trust me, you do NOT want that little lady to lose her temper, she has butt heads with Security Chiefs and the like ... and won." Nodding. "Best you agree to some rest.

Ryan pointed to his backpack which was still on the floor where he and the medic had beamed in, "In my pack is a transponder module I yanked out of the navigation computer on the cargo drone, if it's fully functional, all we'd need in the proper encryption codes to slip through patrols unnoticed." he made a slightly futile attempt to keep steady "Intelligence has an extensive library of warp field patterns a ship could mimic without much effort, I know that sounds easy but it is, Intelligence has been doing things like this for a long time."

"You can explain that to security and commander Pallara to take over from you as you have been ordered to stay in sickbay." Toni snapped.

"I'd rather be in my own quarters it's not like I can go far." Ryan wanted to stall before the doctor discovered something he shouldn't.

"Lieutenant commander." She spelled out the rank for a reason. "You are going to do exactly as the doctor says, and if he says you have to stay here by god you will stay here. Am I making myself clear?"

Ryan was too weak to argue anymore he just rolled back on the biobed and laid back.

"Here you get that hospitality of a nursing staff to help make your stay more comfortable." Milton tried to be pleasant. "There are still a few things I want to check as you still have toxins in you that need to be fully purged, so keeping you safe under observation is key right now."

Ryan half rolled hie eyes, he hated doctors.
