Is there something I am missing?

Mission: Those who are left behind
Location: Bridge Science Station
Timeline: Route to Star Base

ON

Larissa had checked a star chart and the coordinates pointed to a fairly normal agricultural planet. The initial scans showed no are plants or minerals and the harvests were nothing much to export. The planet itself seemed unremarkable; yet, the data she had found showed several time tables for a massive influx of Dominion Forces. It seemed the most habitual planet and biggest food stuffs export needed heavy fortification .

As far as Larissa could find out it is just a normal planet with not much more food than that needed to support the planet for trade.

Larissa deduced that Science might be best if looped into this investigation, maybe the Dominion need a vacation spot or just like Humanoid salad? ANy way it went was over Larissa's head. She went to the bridge to seek the Lead of Science in hopes of getting answers.

Exiting on the bridge and heading directly to science she found the Chief at the console.

"I am Ensign Larissa Milton." She gave a polite bow. "I am sifting through data and came upon a planet the Dominion seem to want to protect and the normal checks show nothing out of the ordinary Yet the Dominion want it for some reason.

She quickly explained.

"Maybe you ; as Science, might know what the Dominion might need on an Agricultural planet off the main pathways?"

Zara had been manning the main science station on the bridge when the ensign had approached her. She turned around from her console as she spoke. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ensign Milton," Zara replied. "I'm Dr. Zara Kingston. I'd be happy to help. Could you transfer the data you were reviewing to this terminal, ensign?"

As Zara studied the star chart, she frowned. "Now that is interesting. I don't want to speculate too much, but there are a number of reasons why the Dominion might seek agricultural possibilities from a planet—some of them war-related. Many societies advanced their own plant life and industrialized it to create biological warfare. Of course, it would require a deeper xenobiological spectral analysis to determine what they're truly using it for. " She offered a soft smile. "But I shouldn't get carried away with theories." She took another look at the star chart. "It is weird that there's so much traffic for something so...generic."

"It is a tid-bit I gleaned out of a Data Core." Larissa explained. "Just the location and time tables, the ship was lost in a battle and I hacked this out of the memory." She admitted. "No real information contained here if they fulfilled the plan or maybe went bigger? Yet it seems unusually important don't you think by the forces... Not that you are a tactical person I-I just wanted to know if I was off-base thinking this is not a normal thing to protect a planet so average? Any real records from scans or anything of the planet in question?"

"No, I think your suspicions are right, ensign," the Klingon/Human scientist replied. "It's not normal to protect a planet like this." She ran her fingers across her console one more time, a diagram of a molecular structure appearing on the screen. She turned back to Marissa with a raised eyebrow and pointed to her screen. "Do you see this? This soil sample contains enzymes that seem to be of particular interest to quite a few people, including our very own chief medical officer. For a presumably normal star system, it seems pretty popular."

Larissa tilt her head for a second and pondered something.

"Are-Jay is a research Doctor; I know plagues and things are in his specialty. There has to be some reason he found interest in that planet." SHe shrugged. "We have not been married that long so I admit hi is still a bit of a mystery. It might be best if you ask him rather than me. Business and Private parameters I think?"

Zara was silent for a while, connecting the dots in her head. "Yes, perhaps it would be best. I'll speak with him now."

"I hope between the two of you the Dominion actions might make more sense?" Larissa added.

"One can hope," she said softly. She stood up from her station, ready to pay the doctor a visit. "I'll report back what a find. If you'll excuse me, ensign."

"I am glad to be of help." Larissa noted.
