Asking for help
Posted on Wed Aug 13th, 2025 @ 11:56pm by Field Marshal Moxley Sorrel (Stoffels) & General Richard Stoffels (Stoffels) & Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey
Mission:
Those who are left behind
Location: counselling office
Moxley had thought long and hard on what to do to help his granddaughter but he knew he needed help with this one. Touchy feely stuff was not his thing but he cared deeply for his family. So although he did not like counsellors, Mox finally decided that getting help there was his best bet. So he walked into the counselling waiting room and sat down to see if someone would have time to see him.
Sky wasn’t officially back at work until her maternity leave ended, but with a routine now in place with the twins, she was finding harder and harder to stay away from her office. Taking the twins with her she had set up a travel cot in one corner where they could sleep during nap time. With both of them sleeping she stepped outside her door only to notice Morley sitting outside. “Moxley?” She offered a curious look. “I’m not officially here, but you can come in if you’d like? That’s if you don’t mind Chloe and Connor being present, they are asleep though.”
"I don't mind." He said. "I have experience with children." His own and his grandchildren. "I am not here for me, ma'am." He said when they had entered her office. "I am worried about my granddaughter? I don't know if you heard what has happened?"
Sky shook her head as she motioned for Moxley to take a seat as they entered her office. “Xavier does his best to keep me in the loop, but I don’t get to hear straight away. What’s going on?”
He quickly explained what had happened earlier that morning in sickbay between Toni and the Intel officer. "Toni is angry and scared. And I don't know what to do. I do not have a good track record when it comes to emotional stuff. And I am worried for my family as well. I am worried about my daughter and Richard. I don't think for a minute he is guilty but he hates intel so much that sometimes he can be his own worst enemy in that regard."
Sky nodded. “I can see why you’re worried, put in Tony’s shoes I’d be panicking right now.” She paused. “There’ll be a thorough investigation into this, Xavier wouldn’t allow anything less.”
"I hope she has learnt to trust and will let him help. I am afraid she may revert to old behaviour and try to do things on her own. She can't on this and she has to trust the crew. What Price did, did not help her trust issues."
Sky nodded. “I agree, I may have to have a word with him at some point regarding that. In the meantime I’m going to need to speak with Tony, and I’d imagine Kay as well.”
"That would be wise. That Welsh temper of hers will make her explode as well. I am not sure she is aware yet of what is going on."
“Fingers crossed she doesn’t, it’ll give me time to talk to Tony first.” Sky paused. “Should I call her? See if she’ll come here now?”
"Maybe don't get me involved." He looked a little sheepish. "Toni doesn't like it when I meddle in her life."
“True, but on this occassion you’re not meddling, you’re worried about her and I can’t fault you for that” Sky offered a warm smile. “Okay, I’ll talk to her once we’re done rather than calling her now.”
"We both know I am not the easiest person to get along with. I know you are not a fan." He smiled. "Right now it is about what Toni needs and you can give that to her."
Sky nodded. “Did I say I’m not a fan of yours?” She offered a smile. “I try not to make judgements about anyone, yourself included.”
"You and I clashed over Nicky." Moxley reminded her.
“Maybe we did, but that doesn’t mean I hold grudges” Sky offered. “I give my opinion where needed, but most of all I’m here to help. You care for your family, and that’s something to be proud of Moxley.”
"Oh I am. I am proud of all my kids and grandkids but they don't always understand that." He came to his feet. "Enough about me. Take care of the children for me, counsellor."
“I will Moxley, that I promise you” Sky smiled warmly.
"Good."
Watching Moxley head out Sky made up her mind, she had to go and see Tony.
