Quick debrief

Posted on Sat Mar 23rd, 2024 @ 12:07am by Captain Xavier Carey & Commander Antonia 'Tony" Stoffels & Lieutenant Commander Aalis Rinne & Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey

Mission: Lantea
Location: Captains ready room
Timeline: Lantea before departing

Xavier walked onto the bridge, and noticed both stoffels sitting at their respective places. "Commander, Lt, my ready room please." He replied as he headed straight to the ready room. He had called up Commander Rinne as well for her take on the whole scenario down on the planet.

"Coffee hot, 3 cream three sugar." He spoke as he approached the replicator.

Tony followed him in. She was so relieved to see them both and to be able to hand back command of the ship to the captain. Her stimulants would not work much longer and she would have to take a break then. "Are you ok, sir?" She asked softly.

Sky nodded as Xavier had looked in her direction as he’d invited them both to his Ready Room, getting up she’d followed Tony in before taking a seat on Xavier’s couch waiting for Xavier’s response to Tony’s question.

"The disaster we were brought here to fix, was a disaster of their own doing. They uploaded a virus into their system, and apparently got out of control." Xavier replied sitting down and taking a drink.

Tony cursed softly. "And that somehow infected the ship as well. I guess you did not have time to warn us after they told you."

"It seems totally crazy!" Sky shook her head. "Why upload a virus into their own systems?"

"They feel they have been abandoned by starfleet. A lot of their systems are outdated. But I wouldn't call it being abandoned."

"Did you have casualties?" Tony asked. "We were bloody lucky that our medical staff was able to save everyone." Unconciously she rubbed her shoulder.

"There was a real chance that there would have been. Luckily, our ops people were able to avoid that... but we had no idea how close we were to losing some of our people down there, due to their carelessness."

"Criminal." Tony mumbled. Has everything been contained now?"

Aalis moved through the doors as she had been called to the Ready Room, and then moved to the side area away from everyone that was now sitting in front of the Captain behind his desk. "Sirs," she commented.

Tony nodded back, glad to see commander Rinne back in one piece.

"How are our guests commander?"

"Comfortably uncomfortable in the Brig," Aalis commented. "Don't think they had this planned as their end goal. Then again, I've never known someone to self sabotage to attention seek as such on such a global scale that could have affected the galactic community."

"Gods I would have punched them on the nose for what they did. I admire all of your restraint." Tony said honestly. If people had died she would have gone down there to have a word with the prisoners.

"It has happened in the past, not at this scale however." Xavier replied. "Horton has been quite remorseful, I do not believe their intent was this severe, although anything is still bad."

“Hopefully they’ve learned their lesson” Sky offered an opinion.

Nodding in the negative, Aalis commented, "most likely not. I saw people l like this when I was overseeing the diplomats. They usually have no remorse and will continue to have dalliances again after a short reprieve from the lime light."

Tony just shook her head in utter disgust.

"Has Engineering and Operations been able to fix the computer core?" Aalis asked after nodding in agreeance with the commander.

"They are currently working on it, their next call in about their progress is due in a few hours..."

"I hope you don't need me immediatly." Tony admitted glancing at Sky. "I have promised the medical staff to take a few hours off. I am afraid I did not leave the bridge during the incident so I am a little tired." She did not mention the stimulants or her head and shoulder injury. This was already a lot for her admitting she was human.

Sky offered Tony a smile as she acknowledged her. “I’m afraid I did insist that she get some rest once things calmed down. I’ll be adhering to that as well, I need the rest as well.”

Aalis nodded. "Probably best for all of us while we wait on Operations and Engineering to finish their work to get some rest after everything that has gone down."

"Agreed. We can set the departments to work and take a nap ourselves. I am thinking at least eight hours." In fact it was getting hard not to yawn.

"If there isn't anything else, sirs, I'll leave you to your rest," Aalis commented.

Xavier nodded, "I think that concludes this meeting. When everything is done, we shall head for earth."
