Beam down

Mission:
Lantea
Location: Cargobay
Timeline: Current
Xavier walked in the cargo bay, with the Resolution safely docked at the Starbase orbiting Lantea, it was an easy ride. Giving him, the opportunity to go down, sure they were here for a reason, and this wasn't a holiday, but with everything smooth, there was no reason he could take a little trip to the surface.
"Ok, first order of business," He looked to the people gathered. "Same as last time, there has been some concerns regarding some of the systems, the people who will assist you has some... concerns... they didn't specify what. But its a concern, so keep an eye and ear open. Rumblings atm, are often more than rumblings."
Sky stood alongside the others knowing very well she wouldn’t be assigned to any of the away teams. Still, at least she was at the briefing which went a long way to making her feel more included whilst on light duties.
Aalis stood by. Being the newly minted Security chief and all, she took her job seriously. While there were contingencies with the senior staff, nearly all of them heading to the surface, it was another thing for the Captain to be heading to the planet surface on away missions. Granted this wasn't a hostile location, it was still something she kept heavily on her mind.
Kay came in and looked around nodding at people. She had no idea if she was here as a counsellor or in a combat position since she was trained for both up she hoped the captain would fill her in during the briefing.
Tony was not happy that Xavier would be going on the mission and he had not told her yet if he intended her to stay behind. She thought that one of them should.
Etan emerged from behind some of the equipment loaded on antigrav sleds, passing PADDs between his staff. He was absolutely ‘in the weeds’ down here, reviewing details and making sure that he was at least vaguely aware of every part of the process down on the planet. He walked up toward the rest of the Away team as the Captain mentioned the ‘concerns’ that the planetside team had. “Aye, sir. Ops will keep an ear to the ground.”
Milton came into the Transporter room with a heavy Field Medical pack and Pix following, she landed on his shoulder and crossed her arms. Here she would not affect the Transporter and showed her determination to go with Her Rutherford.
"If I take any more supplies the Sick Bay will be empty i think." He joked in his Jovial manner.
“Better too many than not enough Rutherford” Sky grinned playfully. “I’ll keep an eye on Sickbay while you’re down there.”
Troilin came through the doors with PADD in hand going to her direct superior the XO.
"Commander." She greet. "I have the shuttle rotation for ground relief and ambulance pick up should it be needed." She passed the PADD to the XO. "Also a CAP (Continuous Air Patrol) rotation while we have feet on the ground ma'am."
"Thank you, lieutenant. Good work." Tony said. "And all of you, it is good to see everyone well prepared." She looked at the captain for further instructions.
Jacen made his way into the Cargo Bay, with a bag on his shoulder. He'd pulled the scan data and wanted to make sure that he had all of the right tools stowed away with the rest of the cargo going down to the planet. Whist his primary goal was rto work on the planetary defences, he also knew that his engineering background could also be of help.
Xavier walked over to the padd... "All cargo will be sent to one location, for inspection before being allocated to the proper destinations." He awaited the others. "The Lantean delegation is awaiting our arrival."
"Apologies for the tardiness, Captain, just getting a few last minute things in order before we head planetside," Jacen explained.
"I will stay with the ship, sir." Tony said trying not to sound disapproving that the captain went down. With them losing their second officer there really was no other choice. "Do stay in touch."
"I have the First shuttles ready for departure." Troilin added. The escort birds have sensory pods installed to compensate for any residue from the storm." She informed. "Orbital CAP is standard load. I am on Alert Five launch duty if you need."
"How about the twin shuttles that are converted to Mobile Surgery in the Modular sections?" Milton asked.
"One is with the first flight, second on stand by should it be required, I wanted to get supply chain moving first." She explained.
"What do you need me for today, sir?" Kay asked the captain. "Counselling or combat?"
"Counsellor." Xavier replied, "We don't expect any hostiles on the planet."
Famous last words Kay thought but of course did not say anything out loud.
Milton inserted a small cylinder with padding into his special Breast Pocket for Pix to use if she gets tired. If there are children among any wounded Pix is invaluable but can over do it and wear herself out. the top of the cylinder reach just over hem of pocket.
Sky looked towards Xavier. “I’ll keep Tony company while you’re away, just be careful down there Sir.”
"Always am." Xavier waved purposely with his hand that was missing a digit. Looking to Trollin, "Very well. We will keep you apprised."
Jacen looked around, taking note that almost the entire senior staff were going planetside, including the Captain. Whilst Starfleet regulations were clear on Commanding Officers beaming down on away missions, he also knew that there was the old fleet prerogative of the "Captains Prerogative" and often that was used in times of safety.
Jacen hoped that things didn't turn sour planetside, but then this wasn't his first away mission and he'd learned a lot in previous missions. Noting that Commander Rinne was with them, he wanted to make sure that they got some time to catch up during work, were that possible.
Etan nodded at the comment about all of the equipment going to a single location - the Captain's orders were consistent, at least. It would be helpful to get everything down there, then quarter it out on an as-needed basis. And this was the sort of job that gave the young man some confidence - his normal nerves were less notable right now, being in his element. This was regulation, a normal operation and he was doing his job - which was, in effect, to be able to make sure that everyone else did their jobs more effectively. "Aye, Captain. We're coordinating with planetside resource teams, they're letting us take lead on this. They have a full staging area set up for our equipment and personnel transports, as well as landing pads for all shuttles. Everything previously requested is loaded up by department, section, and task ticket number, ready to start beaming down on your command. If we require additional supplies, please file a requisition ticket with the ship-side team, and only report to the staging area when you're told it's ready."
Sky looked towards Kay hoping she was up to the task at hand. “If you need anything Lieutenant, just let me know.”
"Of course ma'am." Kay tried to keep her face impassive but she did not like the look Sky was giving her.
“I have every faith in you” Sky smiled warmly.
"Thank you, ma'am." She was slightly molified but still a little suspicious.
Jacen made his way back to the rest of the group after his equipment was stowed and ready to go. He stood next to Aalis and quietly asked "Seeing as this is my first time down on Lantea, is there anything I should know about any previous visits here? just out of curiosity?"
Xavier nodded to the operations chief. Then to the transporter chief. "Start beaming when ready." As he watched crates being beamed away, he walked over to the smaller padd that was meant for personnel. "The ship is yours Commander."
"Aye aye sir." She came to attention. "Stay safe everyone."\
